I just love the colors of the quilts. Do you get your fabrics from somewhere special? I continue to be encouraged by your work. I want to finish the quilt I have been working on for years that is in my Heirloom frame. It is a vintage quilt top from the 30’s or 40’s. I do all hand quilting which can take quite a long time. I vow to finish my current knitting project and get to it!!!
Wow! Your quilt sounds amazing! I love quilts from the 1930 – 40’s! I bought most of the fabrics for the quilt at a shop called Lollies in Shipshewana.
Thanks for your lovely comment!

Beautiful work and your stitching is lovely and neat, simple patchwork squares is probably my safe area at the moment maybe one day I might tackle quilting.
I love simple squares! They never go out of fashion!

I keep coming back to look at your quilts. They really are quite lovely. I want to make quilts for my children’s rooms. It’s on my long list of things to do in our new home. Just out of interest how long does it take you to make a quilt like this for a single bed?
It depends how many hours you work on it in a day! If you work on it every day for 6hr it should take you 7-10days depending on your skill level!
It normal take me about 4 – 6 months!
Hope this helps!
Thanks Nikki, having not made a quilt before I am sure it will take me much, much longer!! It is however good to know what is possible when you become as proficient as you. I can sew and I am patient so will definitely give it a go. Thanks for all your great posts they are indeed a great help and very inspiring.
Let me know if you need help!
I was wondering how long they took you..you are a master! xxx
The mini one not long, two days! The big one a bit longer, it took me about 4months!
