Not much crafting on this side of the world! We have been travelling around, just a little knitting now and again!
We met up with our oldest son for a couple of days in Cape Town, he flew in from London.
So needless to say lots of eating and drinking was done! One of the days we went on a wine tasting tour! We enjoy our red wine and especially a red wine called Pinotage, that orignated in South Africa.
Our first was our favorite vineyard called Meerlust, this estate has been growing wine since 1756, and is known for a red wine called a Rubicon, the Manor House is built in typical Cape Dutch architecture.
The next winery is a new winery, Waterford, built in a classic Bordeaux chateau of French style, the wine was okay! But from a visual and experience unbelievable!
As it was my husband’s birthday my son and I arranged to take him to dinner to one of our exclusive dinning experiences, at the Tasting Room in Franschoek. This was a unbelievable experience, we went for the 8 course dinner with the wine pairing!
On our way home on Sunday! Back to normal on Monday!

Wow,beautiful places!
It is!
Looks and sounds like a great trip!
It’s is very good! Thanks!
OK, my simplicity is going to show here. My favorites are the coffee (love that face!) and the knitting. I mean who doesn’t love the simple things. I feel the urge to pull out some yarn and needles, since my quilting is languishing with this awful work schedule, but maybe a few stitches a day.
I’m with you! Hehe!
Glad you’ve had time together as a family. Eight courses! Glad we aren’t expected to cook like that at home.
Thank goodness for that! It’s bad enough we have to cook one course!
Beautiful and such fun. I can’t imagine eight courses!
It was amazing! Thanks

Great pictures. We lived in Cape Town for a few years but that’s about 15 years ago. I’m sure we went to Meerlust at some point. Enjoy the rest of your fab weekend!
We had a wonderful time! When the weather is good in Cape Town it is amazing! I’m sure you would have visited Meerlust!
All looks amazing

I’ve never been to a winery, although bought many bottles! Sounds lovely – and I agree, I thought you were early twenties lol
You guys are too kind!
Blogging and reading blogs makes me feel like I am the only one in the world who never gets to go anywhere. Sounds like a fun time.
You don’t need to travel! You are well travelled!
So, my ignorance will show here – when I saw the first picture, I thought “yes! A picture of Nikki’s house”!….
I wish!
