Quite a bit if I may say so myself! My fellow bloggers taught me a few things. I will share 2 of the things with you this week.
Firstly I made the best ever Lemon Curd Cupcakes posted by Lizzie from The Plumtree Bakery, I have never made meringue icing before, it’s easier than you think, follow the link to find the recipe.
I saved the best one for last, I love crocheting and joining yarns is always a problem for me. Well, no more, the “Russian Join” or “felted join” posted by Rahymah from Rahymah Handworks works like a charm. When I want to change a colour at the end of a row I crochet to the end, place a marker in the yarn where the join must be then undo a bit of the work, then join the next colour, please follow the link to find this amazing way of joining yarn.
Quick update on “The Plan” is in progress, just had a few hick ups, hope to show you soon.

Your cupcakes look delicious. Yummy.
They really good!
I have always found joins scary too. Perhaps that is why my current knitted project s a one-skein shawl.
It is a lovely way to join 2 yarns.
Those cakes look amazing! I am very hungry now!
Hehe! They tasted great!
What a creative and inspiring post. I have also had troubles with joining yarns. Thanks for visiting my blog 🙂 Annie
Thanks for your kind words.

My challenge next year is to learn to crochet

Those cakes look amazing!!!!

Congrats on your meringue icing success, and I’ll have to try the Russian join – looks like another good way to avoid weaving in more ends!
Thanks for your kind words and liking my buzy day blog?I don’t like going back to finish something, so this method is perfect?

They are delicious!
These cupcakes look delightful! I’ve tried to make one meringue frosting before, and it didn’t turn out for me… I’m excited by how well yours turned out. Maybe I’ll try again!
Hi Melissa
I have a feeling it was beginners luck! I have been read up regarding this icing and most recipe suggest you use a sugar thermometer. I did buy myself one because I doubt that I will get it again. Hehehe
That’s good to know!
You’re brilliant. 🙂
Thanks for your kind words and for visiting my buzy day blog.

Can’t wait to try these cupcakes!
They really good!
Oh thank you for liking my blogpost, otherwise I wouldn’t have seen the link you posted for a Russian Join! I have been struggling since I started to crochet back in February with reliable ways to join yarn and this looks like it might be for me.
Same here! It works best on a double knit yarn.
